Many major brands now have their own membranes. Gore Tex may be the best but likely it’s just the brand of one of many out there. Where I am the Fjälraven membrane is well regarded. (Tho FR does not make shoes). Patagonia H2No seems to also be liked. I have seems shoes from Colombia to Solomon to others with off-brand Gore Tex.
