The309-Y is a heat resistant flexible copper conductor cable manufactured in accordance with standard BS EN 50525 Part 2-11 designed for internal wiring or supply cords to medium size electrical apparatus.. 309-Y H05V2V2-F Cable Specification. With a voltage rating of 300/500V, the 309-Y cable is suitable for use where there is low risk of mechanical

Youd ordinarily use this cable for indoor applications. This is due to the fact that the sheath on the cable isn’t UV-protected, meaning it isn’t suitable for use in direct sunlight. If you require a cable for use outdoors, we recommend you use H07RN-F Cable. 2.5mm 3 Core SY Cable Per Metre Specifications. Current rating : 26 Amp
Yeah just hoping the 2.5mm 2 would be OK, save having to pay for bigger cable, since I already have 2 reels of the stuff. The maximum current rating of the cable is the maximum SAFE operating current to ensure those sorts of temps aren't reached (unless you're doing something idiotic). There is still some spare capacity in the cable
Definition The current rating of the cable is defined as the maximum current carrying capacity of the power cable under normal operating condition. The current rating of power cable decided the upper limit of power transfer by a cable. It mostly depends on the insulation temperature and electrical resistance of the conductor.
Thereare many tables recommended this or that current based on a current capacity, but no one explain the choice of this J (A/cm^2 or inch^2). Voltage drop and consiquently length of conductor, confuse more the designer and finally cancelling when thermal equation solved. So length has a limited meaning on current capacity of a conductor.2single core cables 3 single core cables in trefoil, or 1 three core or four core 3 single core cables flat and touching 3 single core cables flat & 2.6 4.2 7 7 4.2 2.6 10 17 28 28 17 10 Country 11 Apr 2007. #2. When a 2.5mm² t&e cable is buried directly in the wall its CCC is 27A, even in conduit within an insulated wall the rating is 20A so I have no idea where you got 18.5A from. A 32A ring main must be made up from cables with a CCC of atleast 20A each. So under most circumstances 2.5mm² is fine for this purpose. A Andrew Mawson. posted. 10 years ago. According to the TLC web site 2 core 2.5mm SWA is rated at 36 amps, and 3 core 2.5mm is rated at 31 amps. If I am using 3 core with the third core as a cpc (connected to the wire armour ) can I reasonably use a 32 amp breaker to feed it? The cable is buried. Except for flex cable current carrying ability depends on how it is cooled so depending on where it is run it will vary. Also there are many types of cable from the twin & earth rated at 70 deg C to Ali-tube rated at 90 deg C to mineral insulated the latter it is surrounding material which limits it's temperature. this will give 1 Current ratings for up to 1000 V , PVC-insulated single and multicore wiring cables, ambient temperature up to 30 o C Download and print AWG chart .
