Ido fasting for gut health reasons and the most I see in a 48 hour fast is a slight decrease in strength on day 2 or 3. I generally do more lighter reps than heavier ones. If you play a sport, I'd also not do a 48 hour fast on those days if you care about preformance. I'll play soccer on a 36 hour fast but 2 or 3 day fast, I'm slower. Ifyou’re a more seasoned faster who has hit a weight plateau, wants to boost results, or gain the additional health benefits, a periodic long fast of up to 48 hours might be a great fit. Start with a goal of 24-36 hours the first time and build to a 36-48 hour fast. ‍ The most important thing is to honor your body. Its certainly possible, but I think the best way of incorporating a 24- or 36-hour dry fast into your water fast would be to do it on Day 6. That way you’ll have a full day to rehydrate before you start refeeding. This just ‘keeps things straight’ for your body, not having to rehydrate and refeed simultaneously. tUQf.
